Welcome!

I’m Julie. I’m a Christian….and I’ve got issues. We all do! Sometimes we think that being a Christian means that we have to look or exist a certain way, and that way includes not having issues. Or maybe it’s that we think that once we become Christians, whatever we were dealing with before that moment should be healed.

I reject that. There’s many ways to be a Christian, and part of being a Christian and growing in our faith includes working through our emotional stuff. And if you have “stuff”, it’s not because you haven’t prayed hard enough or don’t have enough faith. Maybe you just need help to work through it. A safe space. A partner to help you work it out. That’s why I’m here! I love Jesus, and I love to help people work through their stuff. I weave together psychology, theology, and spirituality as we work through the stuff together.

So consider this space as a safe space where we get to work through all kinds of topics…together. What does if mean to be a Christian in the 21st century? What does it mean to have an identity in Christ? What about my stuff…how do I work through that? What if I don’t fit the Christian woman or Christian man mold? What is the Christian woman or Christian man mold, anyway? And the most important day to day question…what should we eat? Did I mention that I looooove food? Because I do!

Anyway, this is a space for us all. Proverbs 27:17 says that “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another”, and I am a firm believer in that concept. I would be nowhere without Jesus, but right after that, I would be nowhere without my people. Whether we admit it or not, we all need “our people”. Some people. Any people. Even if the people aren’t emotionally healthy or good for us. I wanted to create a safe, emotionally healthy and nurturing space where people could find “their people”. A space for everyone, because Christ and family and relationship is for all of us.

I reject that. There are many ways to be a Christian, and part of being a Christian and growing in our faith includes working through our emotional stuff. And if you have “stuff”, it’s not because you haven’t prayed hard enough or don’t have enough faith. Maybe you just need help to work through it. A safe space. A partner to help you work it out.
